2011

September – The US Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Project Agency-Energy awards $2.5M to Ideal Power Converters.


July - IPC announces first commercial product, a 30kW PV inverter for the US commercial rooftop market at InterSolar North America,


June – IPC wins “Top Utility Technology” award at Clean Tech 2011

March – IPC announces successful PV inverter prototype and pilot test at the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit.


2010

IPC receives funding from Battery Ventures.



IPC receives funding from State of Texas Emerging Technology Fund.


IPC licenses its technology to Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin Intelligent Microgrid Solutions wins initial contracts from US Army Hybrid  Intelligent Power program .  IPC receives development contracts from Lockheed Martin for key power converter components.


IPC receives industry awards:

IPC installs initial Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) pilot system. Successfully proves new topology for VFD for AC induction motor applications.

2009

IPC receives its first US patent.  It has received a second patent in 2010, and has several additional US and international patents pending. 

IPC receives a New Business Sponsorship Grant from Austin Energy.  IPC continues to work closely with Austin Energy on pilot testing of new products.


2008

Ideal Power Converters signs on as a member of the ATI - Clean Energy Incubator.


2007

IPC begins work with the Electric Machines and Power Electronics Lab at Texas A&M University on simulations and control methodologies for its unique power converter topology.  In cooperation with Texas A&M, IPC publishes 5 IEEE peer reviewed conference papers won its unique electronic power converter topology.


Ideal Power Converters is established as a Texas Corporation.
