Electronic power converters provide the infrastructure for the clean energy revolution. Ideal Power Converters has patented and is further developing a new breakthrough current-modulation power converter topology that will improve both energy and cost efficiency for applications including solar inverters, wind converters, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

IPC recently announced the first commercial installation of its breakthrough 30kW PV inverter which reduces shipping and installation costs of commercial-scale PV inverters by 90%. IPC’s groundbreaking technology has been endorsed by the U.S. Department of Energy ARPA-E (Advanced Research Project Agency-Energy) with a $2.5M grant to further develop and extend IPC performance benefits. (IPC awarded ARPA-E grant Press Release)

IPC has licensed its technology to Lockheed Martin. Together the companies are developing a new Intelligent Microgrid Solution for Forward Operating Bases of the US Army, which will improve reliability and reduce fuel requirements by up to 40%. (Lockheed Martin Press Release)
